As the year 2020 came to a close, the air travel industry continued to adapt to the new realities, and mobile applications played a pivotal role in this transformation. Sensor Tower's data provides us with a glimpse into the performance of the top 5 air travel apps on the iOS platform in Latin America for the fourth quarter of 2020.

LATAM, by LATAM Airlines Group S.A., showed a steady increase in downloads, starting at 8K in the last week of September and peaking at nearly 12K in late November, before stabilizing at around 10K by the end of December. The weekly active users followed a similar trend, with a gradual increase from 60K to over 65K during the quarter.

Volaris experienced fluctuations in its download numbers, with a noteworthy spike to almost 10K in early November, but downloads normalized to around 6K towards the end of December. The app's weekly active users saw a high of over 19K in mid-November, eventually settling at around 16K by the end of the quarter.

Aeromexico saw its downloads fluctuate throughout the quarter, with a peak at over 6K in mid-December. The weekly active users for Aeromexico showed an upward trend, starting at approximately 15K and reaching a high of over 17K in the same period.

Flightradar24 | Flight Tracker not only maintained a consistent download rate throughout the quarter but also saw a significant increase in revenue, starting at $2.8K in late September and reaching nearly $3.8K by the end of December. The app's active user base remained relatively stable, with a slight increase from around 35K to over 38K during the quarter.

Lastly, avianca had its download numbers hovering around 2K for most of the quarter, with a noticeable jump to nearly 2.8K in late November. The weekly active users showed modest growth, from approximately 7K to just over 8K by the end of December.
